On the first anniversary of World Blind Golf, 22+ golfers tried Tee See at Meadow Park: a plate with a NaviLens code at every tee-box that reads par, distance, hazards and hole features aloud.

World Blind Golf (WBG) is the international federation that regulates and promotes golf for blind and low-vision people. Its Australian affiliate Blind Golf Queensland runs open tournaments, "Come and Try" days and initiatives to open golf up to anyone who has never been able to play it.
To celebrate the first anniversary of WBG, they chose the 9-hole Meadow Park Golf Course in Tallebudgera (Gold Coast, Queensland) and used the day to launch the Tee See concept worldwide, developed with NaviLens.

The tee sign doesn't reach everyone
Every tee-box has a sign with par, distances by colour (red/white/blue/black), hole shape and hazards. For a blind or low-vision person, that information only exists if someone reads it to them.

Reliance on the coach
In blind golf each player usually plays with a coach who narrates the hole. Tee See doesn't replace the coach, but it lets the golfer review the card on their own and prepare mentally before the swing.

A scalable system
The challenge was to validate a cheap, lightweight format that could be replicated at clubs anywhere in the world: a portable plate with a NaviLens code and an audio card the club itself can edit. No construction, no extra hardware, no changes to existing signage.
§ The solution
Tee See: the hole is heard with NaviLens GO.
Every tee-box gets a Tee See plate with a high-contrast NaviLens code. The golfer — with the free NaviLens GO app — scans without aiming, from several metres away, and hears the full description of the hole aloud: par, distance by tee colour, hazards and special notes.
The system worked across all 9 holes at Meadow Park and proved easy to deploy, maintain and scale to any club in the world, with no hardware install and no changes to the course's official signage.

The first hole, described by voice
A Tee See plate with a NaviLens code sits next to each tee sign. The app describes the hole: par, distance by tee colour, hazards and green orientation. The player can review the hole before teeing off, with no need to ask for help.
Hole 1 · Scan
The phone speaks, no aiming needed
The golfer scans from several metres away and from any angle. Tee See reads the hole's card in their language, out loud, with no need to get close to the sign or frame the code.
Hole 5 · Par 4 / Par 3
One plate per tee-box
At hole 5 (137 m red, 153 m white, 165 m blue/black) the Tee See plate sits next to the course's official sign. The description includes the water hazards and the character of the rolling green.

The Tee See plate carries the blind.golf, Tee See and NaviLens GO App logos. The high-contrast code is read from far away with the free NaviLens GO app, including by users with no prior training.

Shared meal and conversation
After the 9 holes, the groups gathered around the table to discuss the round and the results of the Tee See test. Companions could follow the descriptions at the same time as the player.

Christmas crackers on the green
World Blind Golf's first anniversary was celebrated with Christmas crackers on the long clubhouse table, players with and without vision impairment mixed together.
