The client
Bayer AG Hauptverwaltung · Leverkusen
Bayer AG is one of the world's leading pharmaceutical and life-sciences groups, with its headquarters in Leverkusen (North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany). Its Hauptverwaltung brings together Pharmaceuticals, Crop Science and Consumer Health teams in an office complex with hundreds of meeting rooms, focus rooms, phone booths and flex working areas.
The NaviLens pilot documented in these photos sits on the 4th floor (module A): rooms 4A 008, 4A 009 and 4A 010, blue acoustic meeting pods and a PB4A01 phone booth. Every sign carries the Bayer cross and the NaviLens seal, blending with the corporate identity system (black, white/lime-yellow diagonal vinyl and oblique typography for room signage).
§ The challenge
A headquarters that anyone can read.
- 01
A corporate HQ with hundreds of rooms and booths
Bayer's Leverkusen HQ organises its floors with an alphanumeric code (4A 010, 4A 009, 4A 008…). For visitors, new employees and people with low vision, finding the right room among black glass walls and lime-yellow vinyl partitions requires an extra layer of audio orientation.
- 02
Meeting rooms, focus rooms and phone booths
The space combines large meeting rooms with blue acoustic booths for 1-on-1s and individual phone booths (PB4A01) for calls. Each typology needs its own identity and rules (quiet, phones outside, capacity) and must be readable before entering.
- 03
Integration with the Bayer brand
The sign had to coexist with the Bayer cross and the corporate system (blacks, lime-yellow diagonal vinyl, oblique typography for room signage) without becoming yet another pictogram on the wall.

§ The solution
A code next to every room number.
Next to the oblique signage of each room (4A 008, 4A 009, 4A 010, PB4A01), a NaviLens sign co-branded with the Bayer cross and the NaviLens seal, plus a QR code to download the app.
Visitors or employees hear the identifier, the typology (meeting room, focus room, phone booth), the capacity and usage rules — in German, English and 40 other languages — without downloading another app and without needing to focus the code.
§ Timeline
From room numbering to a headquarters that speaks for itself.
- Today
Room labelling with NaviLens on the 4th floor
Every room — 4A 010 by the lime-yellow vinyl partition, 4A 009 and 4A 008 facing the office and lockers — carries its NaviLens sign beside the room number. The code is co-branded with the Bayer cross and the NaviLens seal + QR to download the app.
- Today
Acoustic booths and phone booths also accessible
Blue acoustic booths for 2-4 people carry the NaviLens code right on the table, and individual phone booths (PB4A01) carry it on the glass door next to the mobile-phone pictogram — voicing name, capacity and usage rules.
- Today
A signage layer for employees and visitors
The user points their phone without focusing and, in tenths of a second, hears the room identifier (4A 010 / PB4A01), its typology (meeting room / focus room / phone booth), capacity and availability — in German, English, Spanish and 39 other languages.
§ On the ground
