    Barcelona · Customer service

A glass of water, an office you can read with your phone.

Aigües de Barcelona installs NaviLens codes across its customer-service offices so anyone — blind, low-vision or speaking another language — can enter, find their counter and wait their turn without help.

    Aigües
    de Barcelona

Aigües de Barcelona manages the full water cycle for more than three million people in the Barcelona metropolitan area. Its Amb Tu (With You) programme drives a plural, inclusive customer service through in-person offices, a mobile office and sign-language video interpreting.

Aigües de Barcelona holds the universal-accessibility certificate for its customer-service offices and the AENOR seal of commitment to older people. NaviLens completes that ecosystem by covering autonomous wayfinding inside each office.

    § The challenge

Getting in and finding the right counter.

    1. 01

Getting in and finding the right counter

Blind and low-vision customers know they're going to an Aigües de Barcelona office, but once inside they need to find reception, the ticket machine and each numbered counter — without relying on visual signage or a companion.

      Serving a diverse audience

Service must reach older people, blind and low-vision users, people with cognitive difficulties and customers who speak other languages.

    § The solution

Codes on the facade and every counter.

Aigües de Barcelona places NaviLens codes on the facade of the office, in the concourse and on every numbered counter. The free app detects them from several metres away, with no need to focus, and reads out the name of the point, its purpose and how to reach it in 42 languages.

On arrival, the person hears "Aigües de Barcelona office, main entrance". Inside, the app announces the information counter, the waiting area and each numbered station. The rollout goes beyond fixed branches: NaviLens also travels with the mobile office serving municipalities without a physical branch.

    § Timeline

The company consolidates its plural, inclusive customer-service programme: mobile office, sign-language video interpreting, facilitator agent and phone support in different languages.

    3. NaviLens across the OAC network

NaviLens codes are installed at entrances, counters and common areas of the customer-service offices to complete autonomous wayfinding inside each site.
